Before you start
- Why only eight seconds?
- Reversing holds every frame of the selection in memory at once, and a browser gets far less of it than a desktop program. Eight seconds of 1080p is already a few hundred megabytes, so the cap is part of the feature.
- What happens to the audio?
- It is dropped. A boomerang has no sensible soundtrack, reversed speech is a novelty, and requiring an audio track would break the silent screen recordings people upload.
- Does a boomerang double the length?
- Yes. It plays the selection forwards and then backwards, so the result is twice as long.
