Blur or pixelate part of a video
Drag over what has to go and it is covered with a blur or a mosaic — faces, name badges, licence plates, the address bar in a screen recording. A clip you need to redact is exactly the clip you do not want to upload, so this runs entirely in your browser.

FAQ
Before you start
- Is the video uploaded anywhere?
- No. Everything happens inside this browser and the file never leaves your device. For footage that needs redacting, that is the whole point.
- Does the box follow a moving face?
- No. A box stays where you put it. For someone who moves, draw it generously or add several boxes with their own time ranges. Automatic tracking is not something a browser can carry.
- Can I hide something for part of the clip only?
- Yes. Select the box, turn off "apply to the whole clip", and set the start and end seconds. "Playhead" fills in the current position.
- Blur or mosaic — which is safer?
- Both discard the original pixels, so neither can be undone. At a low strength the shape still reads, so raise it when you are hiding a person.
